Chicago Music Scene Book Release & Chicago Pop Festival Preview Party
Our first event is the Chicago Music Scene Book Release & Chicago Pop Festival Preview Party, which will take place Sunday afternoon, November 22, 2009 from 1:00pm - 6:00pm. Guests will be able to get a copy of the book and have it signed by Dean and many of the artists featured in the book.
The Chicago Pop Festival Preview segment will feature several of the acts scheduled to perform at the full Chicago Pop Festival. We will also reveal the date and location of the full 2010 spring festival with 50+ acts, so come to the party and be the first to know.
Entertainment will include the Final portion of the World's First-Ever Gloria-off Battle-of-the-Bands, LIVE. Come and cheer on your favorite from the online portion as they perform in the live finals.
The World's First Ever Gloria-off
Humorist Dave Barry said "You can throw a guitar off a cliff, and as it bounces off rocks on the way down, it will, all by itself, play 'Gloria'."[1] And, while we don't necessarily want you to do that, we're not going to hold you back!! Any way you can, we want you to enter "The World's First Ever Gloria-Off."

The Chicago Pop Festival will truly bring Dean's book to life, as a living tribute to the musicians who put Chicago on the map. More than 50 acts of the 1960s and 1970s will be featured in a full day of music on multiple stages and many exciting features showcasing Chicago’s rich musical and artistic heritage.
